Ten teams from Colorado’s Olympic Development Program battled through qualifiers at the 2015 US Youth Soccer ODP Region IV Championships in Phoenix earlier this month. The birth-year range covered 1998 to 2002. No one came home a champion, but some might receive invitations to compete for their respective Region IV team at the National Championships next month, also in Phoenix. Stay tuned.

The 2015 US Youth Soccer ODP National Championships will take place on the same Reach 11 field complex in north Phoenix, running from February 27 to March 1, 2015. Designed for prospective coaches to see different players in a challenging setting, the ODP championships combine players through state organizations. Unlike clubs and other select teams, the ODP teams cast a wider net to the corners of Colorado. The players get to know one another over time, and they all get a fair chance.
